New research using Neuro Device Scent™

One of our devices, the Neuro Device Scent™, was used in the study “Somatosensory response to tricuspid stimulation: a study of functional near infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS)” carried out by researchers from the Leibniz Research Centre for Working Environment and Human Factors in Dortmund and MSH Medical School Hamburg, University of Applied Sciences and Medical University.

The aim of the study was to show the neural response in the somatosensory cortex in reaction to irritating chemicals. This will allow the development of a relatively inexpensive, but innovative method for the objective assessment of volatile substances that irritate people.

Neuro Device Scent™ is our original olfactometer – a system for presenting olfactory stimuli during sensory analysis and examination of the nervous system, which allows to measure the reaction of the human neuronal system to odours.

The study is described in the Scientific Reports section of Nature Magazine, which you can read here: https://go.nature.com/2Bb2Xr3
